Context:

The energy crisis is intensifying. Prices are soaring, global energy security is under threat, and the transition to decarbonisation and electrification feels urgent and complex. In the UK, buildings are responsible for 40% of carbon emissions, making their electrification central to achieving a net-zero economy. Yet, electrification remains costly and complicated for building owners, developers, and occupiers—especially as energy prices have tripled and are expected to remain high for the next decade. Add climate change into the mix, and the need for a practical, optimistic solution has never been clearer.

SNRG is among the fastest-growing next-generation energy infrastructure providers in the UK. Its mission is to accelerate the all-electric, net-zero transition by reducing cost and complexity for building owners, developers, and occupiers. SNRG designs, funds, builds, and operates smart grid connections powered by place-based renewable energy systems.

Solution:

The brief required developing a cutting-edge, clear, simple, and scalable visual identity that would reflect the brand’s values and communicate innovation, trust, and leadership—without relying on traditional codes or the predictable aesthetics of the energy sector. An innovative brand designed to establish itself with strength.

The brand concept is built around a central premise: making the complex unmistakably simple. Operating within a highly technical and structurally complex industry, SNRG requires clarity, precision, and accessibility. Rather than adding visual or conceptual complexity, the solution removes the unnecessary and focuses on structure, functioning as a modular system based on disciplined grids, balanced compositions, and a carefully curated selection of visual elements. The result is a sophisticated identity system that enables SNRG to communicate authoritatively and consistently across all touchpoints, with a long-term vision.

The visual system was designed to be clean, contemporary, and confident, deliberately avoiding literal “green” codes or obvious energy symbolism. Typography styles, fixed grids, a carefully considered color palette, custom iconography, and a dynamic texture system (based on solar panel cells) work together to express an innovative, youthful personality within a sector dominated by traditional players. Every element serves a clear purpose, reinforcing concise communication without ornamentation.
